  • >at last, i can breath a final sigh of relief!!<   my only class is christian education 2 taught by gary troyer.  he thought that a great term project for all the second-year students (everyone who's taken christian ed 1) would be to teach the whole class for one day........  we have had some differing opinions about just how wonderful such a project really is........ i seriously wondered if that might just be an absolute waste of time..   yesterday was my day to teach, and i had the topic of "motivational theories in education."  i had to do a lot of research.  i think it went okay, but i keep thinking of things i should have done to make the class better.  i'm just really glad it's over with.  my stress level just dropped significantly!!  on sunday, the second-year students also got to split up all the visitors and teach them for sunday school.  that had me a bit nervous as well!!   it's strange how i look back already and i'm glad i got to have these teaching opportunities!  we've learned that it's solely the teacher's responsibility to cause his students to learn, and that a teacher's success should be measured by his students' application.  i'll just say that i didn't make gary look extremely successful....  however, i'm really lovin this class!!  it's amazing what we keep learning about teaching within the church!!  every day really is exciting!!

  • AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

ok, that does it; NOW i feel overwhelmed!!!

but it's not that bad; i'm sure i'll survive all this abnormal work!

things are goin purty good around here and time keeps buzzing along.  this term will shortly be finished...

oh yeah, we got like ten inches of snow here at Bible school this week; it's really great!!!   some snow fight develops every day!  in christian ed we learn that the teacher must always be well-prepared.    ...i'm not well-prepared.  i need to be well-prepared.  now i'll go and prepare for teaching.....

have a great and encouraging weekend!!

  • hmmm...  i thought about updating but i dont know what i could possibly write about....  the trip to china went great!  it was quite the experience!!  we got to work with some radios and bibles, and we traveled...a lot!  i won't never forget that trip!   i would post pics, but i just dont want to and my camera decided that it would be fun to make most of the pics at least a little blurry    since then it's been lots of family gatherings and such.  since work was slow i went huntin quite a bit.  i got six deer this year and had a chance at a nice buck=  way too much time in the woods.  i still have a sore spot from playing broomball at the ice rink on new years eve...  and now i'm out here at e.b.i. for about the next three months!  i'm ready to have this program in progress once everyone else shows up tomorrow!  i've been anticipating bible school for a while now; it should be another great year!!  it's kinda odd this year with eleven more guys than girls here.  i get to take that Christian education 2 class and i'm purty excited about that! well i'll scadoodle outta here now; have a superb week!!

  • last weekend i went backpacking with five other guys from church.   it was quite an event- soreness, laziness, craziness, annoying sleeplessness because of some distant redneck concert, fearful sleeplessness caused by falling acorns (BIG acorns), numerous laugh til ya hurt moments (usually involving brent somehow), guy stories.......  i had a great weekend!!      i CAN grow facial hair; i knew it, i knew it!!!!!

i am about to embark on likely the grandest adventure of my life to this point; and i get to go with my oldest sister and her husband along with two other cool guys!!  i'm excited!  if it happens across your mind, please ask for protection for our little group!    china calls.....

  • i guess it's about time for a bi-monthly post....     i can hardly believe that i'm actually an uncle!  too bad my crazy lil NEPHEW (i'm being optomistic) won't show his face until next march   i'm really happy for brendon and ruby! i only have to things to say about this topic- WOOHOO!!!   and .....-it's about time!!!!

it's interesting how much i like to talk about work these days...  the current basement has an impressive story!   a lil over two weeks on this job.  this wall will have a lil over 200 yards of concrete in it when we're finished.  the homeowner either was, or still  is purty wealthy!!  he paid  2.2 million for the  lot  to build on!   from what i can tell, the dirt and trees on this particular piece of property really aren't  very different from what you'd find on most central ohio properties....   but it's on THE golf course of central ohio.    Muirfield.    this place is part of nickalaus estates, which is a step or two above the well-to-do part of muirfield village, which is about five steps above the normal part of muirfield village, which is about two-and-a-half steps above the town of dublin, which is maybe three or four steps above typical central ohio towns.    yeah, this place makes me a lil uncomfortable!!   it's really weird driving my lil banged-up camry in the land of the mercedes, lexus, bmw, cadillac, etc.   some days i feel purty small and insignificant driving in there, but then i get all happy when i think that the God i serve makes all those cadillacs look really, really small and insignificant (and stupid) in comparison.....yippeeeeeee!!! those really rich people just seem kinda weird....   i just found out today that jack nickalaus lives next door to the jobsite; if ya didn't know, he's a legendary golfer dude and he like owns or just designed that golf course.  every year a bunch of the pros play in the prestigious memorial tournament on that course.  next week i should go ring his doorbell and  try to get  his  autograph..... or maybe i'll just have to be happy with a nice big green blade of grass from his front lawn
i'm excited about going to convention tomorrow!!

right now i'm really tired and worn out from a good hard day's work cuz it was really hot and muggy today.  i wish i could just go to bed, but brendon keeps nagging at me to play soccer, so i'll go and try to play for a while; hopefully i won't fall asleep on the field...
